phew teacher’s day is done.

just a poor poor day

Posted by: shaunchoo on: July 9, 2009

today sucks, it just sucks. i feel emo and i dunno why. what the hell. how cool is that. yeah?

when i was on the way home today, I met a neighbour, in fact an ex-neighbour. He was an old man, a kind old man, who was often out with his wife on holidays and even cycling together in Bishan Park. I remembered he used to ’salute’ me as I walk past him in the past cuz I was a cub scout in primary school. i am not really close to my neighbours and he can be considered one of the closer ones.

he had moved out quite some time ago, which only came to my knowledge in that few minutes of chat with him. wow, how can I be so blur not to know man… he had moved to bukit batok, and only returns to Bishan occasionally. he saw me, asked how I was, asked how myfamily was, and told me to continue working hard… then he said this” This badge will take you far in life”… i pondered over what he said and did not know how to response. in fact I did not expect myself to be in there since i surpassed my target aggregate in PSLE.. this quote seems quite meaningful to me, somehow…. but cannot be explained through words. hmmm thinking… reflecting…..

AYG.

Posted by: shaunchoo on: July 5, 2009

AYG. so the past 2 days I have been slacking like some noob. have been following with the AYG, saw makoto yeo jia chen swim (haha). just now i watched the table tennis girls singles quarter final match between Isabelle Li and some North Korean. both were choppers and very similar in style. yea, so they were ultra defensive and each rally can last for more than 5 minutes! Isabelle Li took the first set after forcing the korean into mistakes through these long rallies. the second set, however, the korean start giving the ball an up spin who resulted in a few unforced errors by Singapore. in the second set, the korean also proved to be less prone to mistakes while it was Isabelle who lost her concentration. then came the stage where by Singapore was 3-2 down in the best-of-7 match.. which meant that the upcoming match would be a crucial one. one can tell that in that match, Isabelle Li was on the attack more often then she was in the previous sets cuz she knows that only with these attacks can she be assured of the points. but the thing is, these attacks do not necessarily guarantee the point. it is a risk that she has to take. compared to merely slicing the ball back to the opponent, which is very defensive, by smashing the ball you know you are in control of the point you want and not dependant on the opponent to make mistakes. although Isabelle Li lost 4-3 in the end, it was a good fight put up by her….

this in fact links to how one lives his daily lives. similar to defending strokes like slicing, although this ensures that one remains in a secured position, it means that one can only get the better of his opponent through their mistake.  however, when one attacks, this ensures that he is in control of what he wants to achieve and is not entirely dependant on what the others do as it is he who ultimately made the move. but this is risky in a way that the way we are not guaranteed of a positive outcome if we take the initiative to make a move.

ah this is crap…

OWEN YOU BACKSTABBER!

Posted by: shaunchoo on: July 4, 2009

I guess it is time to revive my blog. yep. the past few weeks have been pretty much uneventful especially with H1N1 looming above us. today was a usual saturday morning. I woke up, ate my breakfast, switched on my laptop, opened my favourites, clicked the link to the BBC website and….

what greeted me was: “Owen completes ManU switch”. this was followed by owen in the manchester united kit appearing right before me… was it a dream, I wondered. why would owen even want to join ManU? has he forgotten that he WAS ONCE from Liverpool? i rubbed my eyes and stared hard into the screen yet again. “O-w-e-n–c-o-m-p-le-t-e-s–M-a-n-U–m-o-v-e”…… I still could not believe what has already became a reality. I went to another URL in my favourites “Newsnow Liverpool”, surely if such a big thing like this happened, there would be many other sources reporting and this is actually ‘related’ to Liverpool right? yep. and the reality sank into me…. owen IS a manu player.

intially on fb, i had said i wanted owen and hleb to join Liverpool since they were kind of not bad and would be free. ( yes, owen is bought on free transfer, it must be all newcastle’s fault…)now manu has gotten him. i pondered over owen’s decision to join United… and finally came to a conclusion that it was just a decision from a desperate man.

1. Michael Owen has no job. If he does not find a job while the July Transfer Window is still open, he would run out of money.

2. ManU made the first move for him. If Liverpool had done so, I am pretty sure he would choose YNWA to red devils.

3. Continuing from 2, Owen knew that Liverpool had no money to pay for his salaries and Manu was the best club that could offer a contract to him.

4. Owen did not want to be known as the man whose career has been in free fall since his departure from Liverpool.

5. Owen did not want to be remebered as one whose career ended with a relegated club.

6. Owen has a history of dum injuries and since a club was willing to take the risk, he would not mind.

7. Lastly, and the most important one, OWEN COULD NOT WAIT ANY LONGER.

well, I guess this is just the tale of a desperate man, Michael Owen.

Singapore VS Liverpool FC

26 July 2009

7.00pm

National Stadium, Singapore

Ticket Price: S88!

Significance: Stepping stone for Liverpool in becoming Premier League Champs 09/10

Match Ups

1. Precious VS Fernando Torres: Precious would overwhelm torres with his ultimate strength and bulding body. Sensing that playing towards Precious would not work, Torres runs away from Precious. Surprisingly, Precious does not chase, or rather cannot keep up.

Winner: FERNANDO TORRES

2. Ridhuan VS Fabio Aurelio: Ridhuan outpaces Aurelio, but Aurelio turns Ridhuan inside out with his samba magic.

Winner: NO WINNER (HAHA)

3. Sharil Ishak VS Alvaro Arbeloa: Arbeloa’s simply yet effective play makes sharil go round and round while sharil’s fancy footwork leaves arbeloa dazed. but arbeloa’s simplicity gets my vote over sharil’s tricks.

Winner: ARBELOA

4. Steven Gerrard VS Mustafic Fahrudin: Gerrard outshoots, outpaces, outruns, outtackes (?) Mustafic, limiting Mustafic’s play. Mustafic attemps to fly in on Gerrard’s ankles but…

WINNER: GERRARD

5. Alexander Duric VS Martin Skrtel: Skrtel attempts to scare the wits out of Duric with his sunken eyes, but that does not have any effect on the matured Duric. Duric tries to hold the ball away from Skrtel, but get chopped down instead. Afraid of Skrtel, Duric attemps to shoot on sight, but ..

WINNER: MARTIN SKRTEL

oh man, i really want to be part of the attempt to remake the KOP atmosphere and singing You will never walk alone… but is far too exxxx. sianz. still pondering whether buy, but confirm no one would go with me and i dun wan go alone. also hard to persuade parents. bleh. but it is a rare chance to see kuyt’s “handsome’ face, mascherano’s ‘GL’ look when tackled and reina’s bald head…

WHO IS WILLING TO BUY A TICKET FOR ME?

the screwed up world we live in

Posted by: shaunchoo on: May 19, 2009

today was a bad day… bad bad day

bio SPA, math ta or whatsoever… all screwed up.

i wonder what has this world turned into.

human nature is weird.

does jealousy prompt physical action?

or does one physical appearance determine how much influence he has?

What makes one want to continually irritate others? i guess it must to be satisfy his own useless desire. just all because his desire, it means he can do anything he wants, at the expense of others.. that’s dumb. have some life man..

whee everything has 2 sides

Posted by: shaunchoo on: May 18, 2009

A person can have a good natured side, and a bad natured side.

A charge can be positive or negative.

Our life has its ups and downs.

just as when i found out i lost around 3 marks for MCQ alr, i realised that i got the correct answer to the question in the open ended section which I have little confidence about.

sometimes people just fail to see the good side. I am one of them. it just so happens I saw it today.
